Ramadan Announcement

The commencement of Ramadan will be announced on Tuesday 15th May 2018 between Asr and Maghrib.
Although the Clonskeagh Mosque has announced the 1st day of Ramadan based on astronmical calculations on Wednesday 16th May 2018 , all other Mosques and Islamic Centres in Ireland will announce Ramadan according to the Moon-sighting.

Therefore we will announce Ramadan only if a Muslim majority country makes an announcement on 29th Shabaan (Tuesday 15th May 2018 at 7PM) for Ramadan. If this does not happen 30 days of Shabaan will be completed according to the Sunnah.

UPDATE:

There has been no positive moon-sighting in any Muslim majority country and neither in Ireland or in Europe. Therefore tomorrow is 30 of Shabaan as per Sunnah of The Holy Prophet ﷺ.

First day of Ramadan in Ireland is
Thursday 17 May 2018

We wish you a very blessed Ramadan.

Ramadan Kareem!
