Tafsir of Surah Al-Fateha and Q & A session in Belfast Islamic Centre by Ameer of Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre Ireland

On the 7th February 2014 after Isha prayer Shaykh Muhammad Umar Al-Qadri delivered a detailed lecture on the Tafsir of Surah Al-Fateha in Belfast Islamic Centre.

The Shaykh was invited by the Management of Belfast Islamic Centre to spend the day with the Muslim Community of Northern Ireland. The Shaykh during the day delivered 2 lectures on Jumah. Due to the popularity of these lectures in the evening a high number of attendees participated in the Halaqah of Tafsir of Surah Al-Fateha by Shaykh Muhammad Umar.

The Halaqah commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran of the verses of Surah Al-Fateha by Qari Abbas Ali Khan. The lecture of Shaykh Muhammad Umar started at 8pm and was supposed to be 45 minuted but the audience enjoyed the thought provoking and enlightening speech so much that it was extended for another 45 minutes. The Shaykh’s lecture ended at 9:30pm and a Q & A session was held for another hour in which many brothers asked various question related to Islam to the Shaykh.

The Shaykh started the lecture by highlighting the uniqueness of the revelation of the Holy Quran compared with previous Divine revelations. The Shaykh gave first a detailed talk on the importance of Tafsir of the Holy Quran and the different sciences that are required for one to understand and apply the verses of the Holy Quran.

The Shaykh then mentioned that the reason he chose the Tafsir of Surah Al-Fateha for the lecture was that this is a Surah that is recited many times during the day by believers. This is why it is important to specially have studied the Tafsir of this Surah. Also the Tafsir of this Surah will inspire and motivate many to study the Tafsir of many other Surah’s of the Holy Quran.

The Shaykh explained the various meanings of “Ta Awwuz” and “Tas Miya” and then explained the verses of Surah Al-Fateha. This was for many the first time to listen to such a lecture which discussed in dept the meanings of Al-Fateha.

After the lecture a Q & A session was held in brothers asked questions related to Tafsir, Fiqh, Self Purification, Marriage and the concept of Jihad. The Shaykh answered all questions in detail in the light of Quran and Sunnah.

The brothers thanked the Shaykh for visiting Belfast Islamic Centre and enlightening them with his wonderful speech and requested that he visits Belfast Islamic Centre on regular basis so the Muslim Community of Northern Ireland can benefit from the knowledge and experience that Almighty Allah has bestowed upon Shaykh Muhammad Umar Al-Qadri.

Shaykh Muhammad Umar Al-Qadri visits Belfast Islamic Centre and delivers Jumah Khutbah

On Friday 7th February Shaykh Muhammad Umar Al-Qadri was invited by the Belfast Islamic Centre to deliver 2 lectures on Jumah.

This was the first interaction of the Shaykh with the Muslim Community in Belfast. Belfast Islamic Centre is the largest Mosque in Northern Ireland and was established in 1977. The Mosque caters for the needs of the entire Muslim population in Northern Ireland of 3000 Muslims in Northern Ireland.

The Shaykh delivered 2 Jumah lectures. The first lecture was on the importance of adopting Akhlaq e Hasanah (beautiful behaviour and conduct). The second lecture was on the responsibilities of a Muslim in Western countries.

Both lectures were highly appreciated by the congregations. In fact the popularity of the lectures was reflected in the high number of attendees the same evening in the Belfast Islamic Centre during the lecture of Shaykh Muhammad Umar on Tafsir of Surah Al-Fateha.

After the lectures the Shaykh met the previous and current management of the Belfast Islamic Centre. The Shaykh congratulated the Management of having a truly diverse Islamic Centre in Northern Ireland.

After the Jumah lectures the Shaykh was invited by Brother Ali Khan, executive member of the BIS management, for a dinner in his house.

Report of Mawlid Interfaith Peace Conference 2014

The celebration of Mawlid un Nabi is the commemoration of the birth of Allah’s Beloved, the Best of Creation and the Leader of Prophets (peace and blessings be upon him); it is but one example of a celebration that is permissible and in total accordance with Allah’s decree.

Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre Ireland celebrated the Mawlid Celebration on Sunday, 26th February by organizing the 4th Annual Peace Walk & Interfaith Peace Conference .

This beautiful interfaith program was attended by over 250 participants. This Mawlid-un-Nabi celebration consisted of two parts ; The Mawlid Peace Walk & The Mawlid Peace Conference. Participants had come not only from Dublin but also from the following cities: Belfast, Ballaghdreen, Athlone and Longford.

The program commenced with the beautiful recitation of Quran by Qari Abdur Rahman followed by welcome speech by The Founder & President of Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre Ireland, Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Umar Al-Qadri. Shaykh Umar during his welcome speech asked the participants if they would like to hold the Peace Walk as the weather was very cold and the roads were slippery. The participants all expressed that they were not worried about the cold weather as their love and passion for Peace & Unity in following the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) was burning in their hearts and would surely keep their bodies warm. The participants were then instructed to gather outside and prepare for the Mawlid Peace Walk. The Mawlid Peace Walk was lead by leaders of the Muslim and Christian faiths. The local Gardai (Police) under the leadership of the Community Guard Sgt. Vincent Conolly assisted the participants during the Peace Walk.

After the Peace Walk Asr Prayer was performed in the Islamic Centre. The Mawlid Peace Conference commenced with the beautiful recitation of Holy Quran.

Craig Considine, who is a lecturer at Trinity College Dublin and  Roman Catholic American journalist and writer thanked the organization for the invitation gave an enlightening speech with the topic ” What Prophet Muhammad has thought me about Islam”. Click here to read the complete speech by Craig Considine.

Sidi Abdul Quadri Lawal spoke about the beauty of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the importance of celebrating the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Reverend Alan from the Presbytarian Church thanked the organization for the invitation and spoke about the importance of inter faith dialogue and his experience in interfaith work. Adrian Christea, secretary of the Dublin City Interfaith Forum, also spoke on this blessed event highlighting the aims and objectives of the Dublin City Interfaith Forum. Imam Monsuro from the Dawah Group spoke about the importance of Loving the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and gave examples from the life of Bilal Habashi r.a. how he loves the Messenger of Allah.

Al-Haja Seidat Bashirat, renowned Nasheed artist from Nigeria, gave a beautiful nasheed performance praising Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in Arabic and in Nigerian language.

Students of Al-Mustafa Islamic School ;Ammad Rashid, Fadilah Salawu, Abdul Wasiu Ajayi, Anas Idrees, Sajjad Bakhshi, Zainab, Marifat and Naeemah delivered speeches on various different aspects of Islam and the Prophet of Islam.

The first session ended with a beautiful nasheed performance praising Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) by brother Sajjad Hussain from Ballaghdreen. IMG_8394

After the Maghrib prayer the second session was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Shaykh Dr. Umar Al-Qadri shared a few beautiful examples from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that highlighted his beautiful character and personality. Shaykh Umar emphasized that Muslims should adopt the moral behavior and qualities of the Prophet.

Shaykh Qari Abdul Majid ,renowned Muslim theologian from the UK spoke about the importance of Peace and the contribution of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to Global Peace & Unity.

The Peace Conference ended with a prayer of Peace from the Holy Quran by Abbas Ali Khan from Belfast and dinner was served to the guests.
